Class 14

Sam is Vice President, Global Brand Creative at Beats by Dre, a leading audio brand evolving the possibilities of premium sound entertainment.

Before Beats, Sam was Managing Director at Virtue, the agency born from Vice. He joined the media powerhouse in Los Angeles to build and lead their West Coast in-house creative offering, aligning his passion for Immersive Storytelling, Digital Innovation, Growth Hacking, and Team Building with VICE’s mission to disrupt the traditional media landscape. Previously, Sam was Chief Creative Officer for Omnicom’s bespoke agency created expressly for McDonald’s. Built from the ground up to be the agency of the future, he led over 50 creatives across multiple Omnicom agencies to pitch, and win, the billion-dollar business. Prior to that, he spent over a decade as a creative leader at a series of top tier advertising agencies creating award winning work for a long list of the world’s leading brands.

In addition to his day job, Sam teaches at Art Center College of Design, is part of the neuroscience and maker communities, travels, runs, and loves cars.

Sam’s industry-leading work has been recognized by major award shows, from Cannes to Clio and Webby. His branded content and personal projects have garnered press and acclaim from every major news and cultural publication, ranging from The New York Times to ESPN and Wired.

The Berlin School of Creative Leadership represented an important step in Sam’s career. He wanted to have a hand in shaping the future of advertising and believed that “the program exposed me to a variety of smart and talented professionals who are accomplished in their respective fields –– who all have unique and valuable approaches to the ways they work in the world. This exposure, combined with lessons in business leadership, offered me the ability to grow in ways I could not inside an agency.”
